Could you post up your dyno? Im just curious cuase that is a really nice tq number. I have seen greens with much less tq numbers near your power levels so you shouldnt feel too bad, your numbers are nice. What do you use your car for? autox, drag, road course?
Are you saying your on the stock exhaust with just an aftermarket resonator? Stock exh is heavy and restricting so I would upgrade that.

I think the best way to get unstuck, would either be more fuel, or just get a bigger turbo, youll really be pushing that thing once you get into the 400s

Not true. I am in the 500/500's with more to give. It won't run out of air on a setup like his. The only time I can see it running out is a 2.3L or bigger with high flow intake and exhaust systems.

Search for BrettMR, take his numbers and multiply by .85 for the equivalent Mustang.

Basically-

Cams
Exhaust
Intercooler
Piping (injen is affordable but doesnt afford as much power)

With straight air and ethanol for fuel you can make 500 easily. Liqquid did it on the stock motor too, I believe he made 520hp or something along those lines. I am hoping for the 550/550 mark when I get this ETS 4" core and convert to speed density.

We will see. When I am done I am doing a writeup on the whole build, numbers, times and all.

517whp 490tq something like that but you failed to mention he blew his motor as well after like a couple passes with that power. if you get your 550/550 you send me a video of it first and hit the streets for some fun

Correct, for 3 days. The 400 ft lbs rule was pulled back after that. I had been seeing 445-450 or so, but that insulated the fact that not just high torque but the shape of the curve could be detrimental. I think 400-420 is still pushing it but appears to be on the safer side of failure.

I agree JB. I was right around that torque figure when I really started pushing things with my stock motor. I decided it was more wise to trade it in as a core and invest in a more stout setup. Any further than 420tq though and I really think you are playing on borrowed time.

I first read your post suggesting this a year or so ago and when I hit it, I decided to play it safe. It was a good decision, as recently I have seen a number of threads on blown motors on the boards here.

Well hell if you can make the power thats awesome, but it seems the torque would tear a stock block up
