1st and 2nd are gone - IX w/ 16k miles - HELP!

This morning on my way to work I was taking my normal route and noticed 2nd gear did not engage when I tried to shift. I thought nothing of it and put it into 3rd. When I got to the next stop light before my office, I put the shifter into 1st and there was nothing there. Then the same for 2nd gear! Its like they are gone.
3rd-5th and R are there. I cruised to my office and parked and now am looking for help.

Car is a 2006 IX w/ 2.5 years left on warranty. Pretty much stock everything cept the usual K&N, CatBack, Rear Sway. Ive never been in a race and the car is not abused. Its my commuter to work and I have not had any track time prior. I did purchase the car with 8k miles though from someone who may have been an Auto-X fan.

Could someone please help me. Please PM to discuss specific details rather than assuming and flaming me on the board.

I really need some help!

Thanks!

when you try to put it in 1st or 2nd does it just pop out or grind?

If under warranty, then take it in.

good luck man. I would reccommend putting the stock airbox back on before you go into warrantee though... the cat back isnt really a big deal but they might get you with the airbox...

If you need a stock one let me know i have the full stock box with the scoop and snorkel

Put everything stock back on the car, even the air filter.

Ok. Ill try my best to find the stock stuff. BTW, anyone have any idea what could cause this??? Doesnt seem like a common issue on 5 speed IX's.

Your car is close enough to stock, bring it to Don Herring in Irving and I'm sure they'll take care of you.

I've never been to that dealership so I can't personally comment but I'm sure they'll all treat you the same.

Your car is fairly stock so you would be safe. I've been to the plano one and they aren't too mod friendly though. The worst is they say no and you take it to another dealership.
