Question Exhaust leak? - Help

So I think this is a exhaust leak in my intermediate pipe just past the clamp. Other wise, why would there be these black marks? If this is a leak like i'm guessing, what's the best fix? Tighten the clamp more or do I need a shop to weld it? Thanks

I sort of had this problem with my Buschur exhaust, my problem was my muffler was pushing itself off the pipe and I had those black marks too. I got a new clamp hoping it would seal better, this didnt do much because my exhaust still moves off the pipe. My friend is gonna weld it in a few spots so it doesnt move any more.

I asked D.B. about exhaust leaks one day and he said as long as its not at the downpipe area, it wont affect performance.

If its not a leak that generates a lot of noise, dont worry about it.

Thanks for your help. I think I might just have someone weld it.

Is that a Works Exhaust? I have the exact same thing in my Works Exhaust. I do not think it is a problem. The test pipes should have been designed to go "into" the intermediate pipe to avoid this. I was thinking about welding but never did.

Personally I would rather have an exhaust that uses flanges and a gasket, whats the point of that style of joining the pipes?

Slip fit have a better fit but they get loose easier. Flange welds also go wrong (crack). A good welder can fix it. Keep us posted if you weld it.
