Question Injector size?

Looking to buy a set of injectors and I am unsure of what size I need. Can you recommend some?

My mods are listed below in my sig. I also plan on installing a set of cams which will probably be 272, not sure which brand yet.

I will be not running e85 because its not available in the area. I will be running 93 octane. I will not be upgrading the stock turbo for at least a few years. The car will be tuned once all this is installed.

Id say go with 1000's. Your mods are slim but 1000's give you room for growth and they wont affect your drive ability.

No reason to spend money on injectors if your not running out of fuel. You'll need to log the car to determine that though.

Your money will be way better off spent else where until you make a jump to E-85 or a bigger turbo.

You DO NOT NEED LARGER INJECTORS till you get a larger turbo. Don't waste your money on a set now. I ran 280 cams on stock injectors.

You would be surprised how far you can get on the stock injectors especially if you are only going to run 20 psi. If you go aftermarket nothing larger than a 750cc would be more than enough for your mods even if you crank up the boost another 5 psi .

Get yourself a Walbro fuel pump on that mod list though.

Several post covered it! Why do you feel you need bigger injectors, given the mods, and no plans to run corn?

I do have a walbro 255 waiting to be installed as well. Forgot to add that one to the list(updated).

I thought a new pair of injectors might be a good idea due to adding the new street FMIC kit I got from Buschur. I didn't want to run the car lean. I also have 91k miles on the car and the injectors have never been changed at least to my knowledge. Don't they get clogged? I figure if they need to be cleaned why not throw a new pair in there.

To make a long story short I am having a tuning shop (Topspeed) install all this stuff at the same time and then tune it. Being that I have a 2 hour drive I would hate to miss out on something I needed.

No need for larger Injectors at all with a stock turbo and your mods.

I have about the same mods you do, and hit 107k with stock injectors, and never had a problem. I recently upgraded, but only because I went to corn. You won't need bigger injectors...the FMIC doesn't make a huge difference, and your tune wont change much with it. Save the money....

As we all said there is no need. You have a Walbro in the car on that VIII turbo even at 25 psi you'll not max them out. You need to log the car to determine this though

Save the money and upgrade when you do the turbo or corn fuel

Alright I appreciate the help. I guess I will look at injector upgrades once I upgrade the turbo a couple years down the road.

Since I have this thread already open can you suggest a good cam size? I was thinking 272 but I could be wrong about that as well.

GSC S2's or the Kelford 272's are pretty much the standard in EVO cams these days. I'd look to which ever you can get a better deal on. Both are around 5 bills IIRC

yup upgrade spring and retainer combo with either of those 2 cam choices as well get that out the way. heck if you could port your head while your at it and install headstuds all the better. i also would not go lower then 1000cc injectors when your ready to upgrade.
