Arrow Engine Block Heater

Just wondering if anyone has the engine block heater in their EVO? I'm thinking about getting one since the cold Winter weather is on its way -- I do suffer from the cold-start abnormalities like the rough running betwen shifts, and difficult shifting. Another question is does the engine block heater help warm the tranny? Thanks...

It does not help warm the tranny. It purely heats the coolant in your engine, making your block warm. Shifting shouldn't be as tough, but it'll still take a min to warm up. Careful with the turbo still, very little coolant flows to it compared to the engine. It'll still take the turbo a bit to warm up and get oil flowing through it at the right temperature.

Do the block heaters not warm the oil? Warming the oil sounds more important than the coolant. Helps cold starts.
