On a serious note, when running a fuel like Ignite's E98, will one still experience gunk build up?

It's funny when people see one person have problems with gunk/e85 on the Internet and are scared to death that when they put e85 in their car it's going to instantly gunk up and grenade their engine. Obviously it is a given that u should check ur injectors and keep an eye on a/f's. People don't realize for every one person that has a problem there are 100 people that have never had an issue. I know guys that have been running ethonal for years and never pulled their injectors or run pump gas and no problems whatsoever. The only thing I dislike about ethanol is that's its not as efficient as gasoline, but what offsets that is the price

^that. My injectors have seen nothing but E85 for the past 3 years, There's a little gunk there, but they look better than my stock injectors did at 40K miles.

When you have 10K of receipts sitting in front of you for a brand new motor/head/everything else, the last thing you want to chance is an injector clogging, causing you to run lean, and grenade everything you just built.

My block is being assembled now and it's going to be ran on e85. To each is own... Some people are satisfied with pump and their power levels, I didn't buy and am not building this car to be conservative, too much power to be had and if u stay on top of things u should not run into any issues.

If that gunk is gettin past your fuel filter. What is the point to even having one?

I would find a new filter. That is the purpose of it. The gunk should not be getting to the injectors.

Great post and I agree with your second point. More people need to know and keep this in mind. I try to elude to it in most of my posts about the fuel.

The fact you are making this post at all means you don't actually understand what is going on here, the filter(s) has nothing to do with it.

LOL. I hear you but i think the risks with E85 are very small comparatively. Esp. when all you have to do is run 93 through the car every once and a while.
I have been running E for the last 2 years and had no issues related to it. Injectors look fine.
