My Built 2.0L Setup

Hey,

Sorry to disappoint with no pics yet, but I am in the planning stages of getting this done. Off course will update and post pics as it comes along, but I need some help with the planning process.

Jacks Transmissions here is going to be doing the work on the engine. I was thinking that it would be cheaper for me to get the parts separately and just have them do the install work. I am having trouble with the choices for pistons. I was just searching on MAP's website and couldn't choose. I have heard good things about Wiseco and JE pistons, but any help on this matter would be appreciated. Also, I have BC 272s on right now, but might be thinking about GSCs...any thoughts on what cams? I was thinking about getting the Eagle rods; I know that they are on the cheaper side, but have heard good things from both Evo and DSM who used em.

Here is a link to what Jacks has got going on in respect to their build.

Thanks for the replies.

Wiseco pistons. Have them and love them. Never heard bad things. For rods if you want a h beam get carillo. I personally use Manley I beams. Have used this combo of wiseco Manley twice. For cams ditch the bc. Get kelfords or gsc. Have had both and both are great quality.

for the T3 setup, what Injectors should I be running? I put together a wish list of what I want to get done. Anything anyone thinks I should add? Are the 1600 injectors going to work or should I go bigger?

2.0_Build_Wish_List.xlsx.doc

With the 'Jacks Engine Rebuild' that is the only thing that includes labor...just add $700 to take the engine out of the car and put back into the car....I was budgetting somewhere on the lines of $5K, but as you can see (and has been stated on diff threads) it is going to cost much more than what you think. I haven't even added the tranny rebuild yet...man, my wife is going to kill me by the time this is done...

also, forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference in the equal length mani vs. super value mani? Also, what about the wastegate options: recirc vs. dump? I have a buschur TBE catless with SD on it. the exhaust sounds good to me, but it looks like with the recirc would I have to replace half of my TBE or do I just get a shop to weld the recirc pipe to my TBE?
