From: Still in NC!! Loving retired life!!
I was just about to post up a thread. They work as advertised.
Back in '05, I installed GSC 264's in my Evo. Didn't bleed the lifters (some say it is needed..some say not). Either way, the oem lifters ticked immediately. I tried the whole "idle for 20 seconds..3K for 30 seconds bit" and nothing. I think I tried some different "snake oils", but they didn't work. And this evo actually "TICKED". Not just a little, but alot. I became accustomed to the noises and just rocked it out for the past 40K miles. I have been meaning to change them out, but put it off (read:LAZY).
Fast forward to this last Monday. I bought a set of GSC S1 cams from Greg and he told me about his "No tick" lifters. What the heck..let's get two birds with one stone.
The GSC lifters have the same overall height as an OEM lifter, but the head is taller..making the body shorter (not good at describing it and didn't take pictures). Maybe greg can post some pictures.
Anyways, they worked. I actually am a little sad that the "ticking" that I am accustomed to is gone! It was part of the "sleeper" affect I had (everyone thought my evo was gonna blow up).
I do not know what the retail price of the GSC lifters are, though. (Greg and I have been good friends for years, so I got a 'friend' price).
To summarize..they worked for me.
Have a good day.

My stockers got a bit to ticky for me after 30K. I do have Cosworth cams. I replaced with a set of JAM lifters and they are quieter. Still an occasional tick during warm up. Car runs great with them.
For what its worth, I'm running aftermarket replacement lifters. I never saw any real difference among lifters during my testing as long as the cam and spring combo stayed in control. I figure anything that is thought to help performance in a float or surge condition is a band-aid.
