You said ADVANCE the cam gears but in the pic it looks like the exhaust is retarded 3.75 degrees? According to the gears A or advance would be to the left or am i reading it wrong???

So say on an evo 8 with BOTH adj cam gears you just advance BOTH gears 3.75 degrees?

need urgent help

Hello guys, I bought the 2.1L combo from Mike at AWD, everything is just AMAZING, we bought many parts and everytime I need mike, Eddie or any of the AWDmotorsports team, they are there. I recommend dealing with them any minute.

anyway we are installing the 4G63 timing belt to the 4G64 block/ 4G63 head combo, I will attach the photos, kindly confirm if the install is correct or not (non MIVEC).

PEACE
NAB

Non Mivec you will be okay, just get adjustable cam gears on both cams. The issue is with the Evo 9 MIVEC head. You can't adjust that intake cam manually and no one makes an adjustable cam gear compatible with MIVEC. John Bradley discovered a way to modify the cam gear to get some more adjustability out of it, but most, like me, just line that one up to TDC and adjust the exhaust cam with an adjustable cam gear...

i just ordered a 2.4l OEM timing belt and just bought OEM 2.4l Cam gears for my 2.1l and mine works fine. .Do it onces and do it right..

you can use the 2.0l Timing belt but have to strach it out. But dealing with a brand new motor is it worth maybe it snapping?

OEM 2.4l cam gears are $55 brand new together or get adj cam gears

are you crazy you need a headgasket thats 87mm only 2 meet the requirements

AMS custom OEM HG 165 shipped(I have this one and can vouch working perfect)
Power enterprise 87mm 220+shipping(get from horsepowerfreaks.com blkcarbonevo has this one and working perfectly)

There is a cometic version hg that fits but all i ever hear is how it most of the time has sealing issues and leaks. I think john bradley is using one on his but i would not recommend it just spend alittle more cash and get it done. Again this is for a evo head on 4g64 block
