So how many miles where in your car when you bought it from the dealer? Did you let it warm up before you test drove it? Because this initial miles really affect your final power output because those first few miles are the ones that make the rings seal (thanks www.mototuneusa.com ). So this question is more of a poll. I think dealers should have just one Evo that they let people test drive and then you buy which ever of the others you want. And they should warm up the cars before you test them since they are so new. This would make for a much better performance on the test drive and you could make the sale easier. Thats why I like to go look at cars that I'm thinking on buying during warm to hot days. And always make the guy turn it on and warm it up first.
Would it have been possible for me to order a Evo to come from factory with minimal miles on it? Because my Evo had like 22miles on it from transportation and test rides and the article in mototuneusa.com about breaking in an engine says that most of the break in happens in the first 20miles.
So what do you think gentlemen?!

13 miles...I drove it easy for the first couple hundred, then drove it hard, then easy, then hard...always varying gears and RPMs...it runs good...no problems...
good job NOVA:
That sounds like the plan. Give it tough love and enjoy the car. A friend of mine bought the srt-4 and be driving normal (not conservatively) but then he couldn't help himself from spanking other people and drinving crazy. Hell, I can't blame him that car is fun as hell to drive. And sounds awesome which made it impossible to not nail the gas pedal to the floor even for me (jeje). He was all worried but now I'm going to tell him that he actually did good.

Only 8 miles on the one I took off the lot, so I felt pretty good about it not being too badly abused prior to being in my hands. I just passed 1,000.
So now I feel free to really get on it hard.

6 miles, and I bought it right off the delivery truck.
The first time my car saw its first redline was about 3K miles.
