Power steering delete guys?

I have been seeing this pop up more and more. Even on street cars. How hard is the steering for those of you who have actually taken it off and run on the street,. Not looking for speculative comments, I want actual experiences.

I wouldnt do it. I was goint to do it to my car over the winter with plans of making my car pretty much an all out drag car this year. After talking to Buschur and a few others who have done it on strictly trailered drag cars and regretted it, I went against it and am glad I did. NO WAY would I do it on a street car when guys that drag only dont like it.

Kill your engine mid corner, you'll change your mind real quick.

I had taken off the Power Steering previously and I say do not do it unless your car is a dedicated drag car zero street time only. (AMS PS delete kit)

With the honda crowd as the car rolls it becomes easier to steer, but that is not the case with the Evo!

Put your ignition on the on position without starting it and start steering. Now imagine it being about 90% of that resistance while driving. A simple lane change is a huge chore and when turning at an intersection the wheel fights you to straighten out during mid turn.

Only good thing was, the car loved going straight. Bumps and unevenness on the road didnt matter, the car would follow a straight path.

I actually ran a 95 GST without the p/s for a few months. Man did my arms get big lol. I just didn't know if maybe it was easy on the Evo like Honda's. I am also interested in maybe an electric pump conversion like discussed in another thread.

Oh no my friend. Not even close to the Honda's. Probably not even close to the GS-T. The gearing inside the rack is closer ratio, that is why its so much harder. Also the weight doesn't help either.
