Thinking of going back to pump

I'm upgrading my setup to the 6262 and I'm thinking of switching back to pump gas to save on upgrading to a double pumper and larger injectors (again). Only until I build my motor. Once I build my motor, I would upgrade the fuel system and go back to e-85.

Right now I'm on the Red with a single 255 and FIC 1350's. I put 458 WHP and 413 WTQ on E-85 @ 28 PSI. The 1350's are at 78% IDC right now. I'm looking to be right around 500 WHP with low boost on the 6262. Should I switch back to pump gas till I build my motor? Or should I stay with E-85, knowing that I am not going to have a second fuel pump?

NO!!! You are going to lose a lot of spool with 91 octane and you wouldn't get too much out of it. If you are on the stock block and at 5100-6000' in elevation, you are going to need it to spool sooner than later. Stay with the E85, max out the injector, should be around the same hp as before maybe a little more and then when you build it buy the DP and 2200cc Injector Dynamics injectors and be done with it. There is absolutely no reason to go to 91 octane. You will need more boost to reach those numbers of the red with 91 octane.

You also said you were getting close to 280 miles to a full tank of e85 right? I got that every once and awhile with 91 octane and light mods.

The only problem that I see is you are going to spool about 500-800 rpms later with the 6262, that is why I am trying to do some calculations to figure out the DCR and SCR so I will know what CR pistons when I order the block from AWD and BR. I don't want to sacrifice any spool if I can prevent it...

Just do the fuel system once and be done with it. Buschur DP'er, some FICs, and be done with it for now and the future.
