BBK Full + E85 = need double pumper?

I am going to be installing my BBK/other goodies soon and I would like an E85 tune for fun. Looking around here there are plenty of BBK on E85 threads with a single Walbro 255. I spoke to Chad himself recently though and he suggested a double pumper might be a good idea.

Could any BBK + E85 owners/tuners chime in on this? Obviously I don't want to skimp but $400 (difference between Walbro and BR Double Pumper) is $400.

Car is stock motor. Expecting between 425-450 whp on a Mustang dyno on E85. Should I be okay with a single Walbro?

Thanks guys.

I would think that would be ok, what size injector are you going to be running?

In my experience, 450whp on a Dynojet is pretty much the limit of safety on one pump and E85. I would imagine that would be about 420whp on a Mustang. -Adam

GST can get about 460 whp on a modded single Walbro on e85.

I made about 460 whp as well on a single Walbro running through Data Log Labs.

To the OP, if you are cheap like me, then do the bypass valve mod and a Kenne-Bell boost a pump. Apparently, a modded single Wally will provide enough fuel for a BBK on E-85.

I have been fine with single walboro and 1450's. Plenty of room to spare.

I'd probably agree with Chad's advice based on my own personal experience with my GTR - I had 2 x Bosch 044's when one decided to **** itself down the main straight at a track day, the second pump was good insurance.... it saved my engine.

How's the car used? Street driving, track days, drag racing?

I know a guy running a BR3065 with 1250's and another with a custom Holset HX35 running 1200's. Those are both much larger turbo's than a BBK and both of them needed double pumpers with Ethanol.

The safest thing would be dual pumps, but not so sure there "needed".

99% street, occasional drag/autocross/track days.

It sounds like I should be okay with a single Walbro.

If needed, how exactly does one modify it?
