Is your gas gauge off with large injectors?

Does anybody with larger injectors have issues with their gas gauge reading incorrectly? I've had a problem on this with my previous car and was just wondering?

(cause of problem was that after half a tank, the gauge calculates fuel consumption using the stock injector size as part of the calculation, thus larger injectors confuse it)

Ummmm, the gas guage on EVERY car I have ever seen works on a float (called the sending unit) in the gas tank. What car are you talking about that "calculates" fuel in your tank based on fuel consumption rate?

Ummmm, then you must not have looked at many cars our at many newer cars. The gas tank I had calculated gas consumption and if you ask any owner with a newer modified Lexus, they will tell you the same thing. After a half a tank the fuel gauge will read incorrectly on say an IS 300 with larger injectors.

I have no clue why they would do that. It really sucked and I wouldn't call that a problem compared to the rest of the **** that ECU did. I have a feeling it is for emissions purposes for some reason, other than that I have no idea.

This is one of the main reasons I got an EVO, was the lack of this "technology".

How is the fuel gauge related to emissions?

Our car has a float. So the answer is no problem.
