My evo acted up a bit the other day. I was driving from my moms and I got on it a bit. Well, my wastegate must have been stuck open or something, cause the car wouldnt go into boost. I didnt hear the turbo spool up or anything. I could definitely not feel anything.

So I go to my buddies house and pop the hood, nothing was out of the ordinary. I tell him about what it was doind. We go for a drive, it does it for a second, then just out of nowhere it comes back. Everything works again.

Does the wastegate stick sometimes and then frees itself?

The only other thing is now, the car almost sounds like a turbo diesel on spoolup. you hear the turbo before motor. Its a ver high pitched whistling noise. I did a boost leak test. I have leaky throttle body shaft seals. Im not sure if they would cause the noise or not. The car pulls hard still, runs good an everything. Its just this noise is bothering me now.

Any ideas?
