Can i get some opinions on my transmition situation

Hi, Im currently doing a motor rebuild and was wondering what route i should go with my tranny. Before the rod bearing failure it was slightly grinding shifting into 3rd. Should I go ahead and replace it while its out or is the slight grind ok to drive with for the next few thousand miles? Im sure it is the same grind a lot of people get where you can learn to shift in to 3rd without the grind but it is still semi annoying. Thanks

I would say fix it. Could be a synchro. Depending on the power you are putting down, you need a good clutch (twin disk) to keep the synchros from working too hard. I have had problems getting in to 5th on the track and i was told it could be clutch related. All my other gears are fine though, so i think you may have a prob if its 3rd.
