PM'ed SBR and they have not responded. I am sure the kia block is a 4g64 I just want to make sure it is the right generation. No one seems to know what to look for when you a looking at just a bare block and nothing else to reference.

Maybe since I can get this one for <$200 delivered. Show me a block listed for that price and I will not go this way. I think the information would be universally useful though.

Uh I've never paid more than $100 bucks for a 4G64 with rotating assembly, usually they have a spun bearing or balance shaft is seized but the block is usually perfect. I've got a few here for building so we shall see what the machine shop says about them. BTW I haven't heard that Kia 2.4's are the same. Does the Evo head bolt right on some of them?

If you have any usuable ready to drop in rods pistons bearing already machined blocks with 100mm crank for sell let me know. I might want to build a LR2.4 at my own pace and replace the one i have with it later. Really depends on how mikeys and Nicks turn out to be honest the reg 2.4 might be enough

There actually will be 2 variables between our setups:
  1. LR vs Standard length rod
  2. Compression ratio!
Frankly, the fpblack is pretty much out of breath on my setup by 7.5-8k rpm, so I'm not really convinced that building a LR 2.4 will buy you anything on a fpblack combination. -> Add an hta35r to the mix though which would keep airflow up when reved out to 8k+

Still, I am definately interested in this comparison!

thats what I meant (other than compression) the LR to short rod...thus what we are comparing

The 9:1 vs 10.3:1 is going to be overall power but shouldnt affect the shape of the powerband. If there is any difference to be seen I will hope we see it
