Secret to removing starter???

I have all the bolts out, the car is in neutral, and this sucker will not back out of the bell housing. What gives?

Do you have the bolt out from the back side? Meaning the bolt head is on the tranny side.

Nevermind. Got it out. The damn gear was still engaged. It was hung up on the flywheel, so it was a b getting it out.

On a related topic: Does anyone know where I can find brushes for our starters? Took it apart and oil had leaked from my return line right into it. The brushes are toast. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
