Hey Guys wanted to share this project we are working on , its an Evo 3 with an evo 8 ecu installed on it , we got the car fired up and took it to do some track did some ecu tweaking and the car is a blast to drive , the car weighs about 2400 pounds
ill update as we go along on this evo 3 , for now the tranny is coming out to fix the 3rd gear of the teamrip tranny

We are loving these old school evos and they love us back

The 8 ecu swap opens up a lot of possibilities for these cars.
For those that want to go an easier route dsm/ecm link is now available for the 1-3.

no need to do that, we can tune those on the stock ecu too and get much more precise Originally Posted by wreckleford

Much more precise than ECM Link using the stock ECU? The Ostrich method is the only other way I know and that is not more precise than ECM Link. What are you using?Originally Posted by Mellon Tuning

You are confusing me. When I posted that the 8 ecu swap opened up a lot of possibilities for these cars Chris said you can tune the stock ECU and be more precise?? Was he talking about tuning the 8 ECU or the 1-3 ECU?Originally Posted by wreckleford

[QUOTE=wreckleford;8357742]
, we mean the evo 8 ecu is what we like to use for these old school evos

I'm game, make a thread about a wisconsin trip and let's gauge the interest to see if we can make it happen Originally Posted by SwishaSweet

sorry for the dumb question, but since the evolution III and the DSM's share the same engine/tranny would the evolution VIII ECU swap into a DSM?
