Clutch choices...too many!

I'm looking around for a clutch upgrade on my IX GSR SE, and I think I've narrowed it down to a few different 6 puck offerings. As far as mods go, I only have, intake, boost controller, D/V, and reflash. My future plans for the car are TBE, IC pipes, IC, cams, and possibly do a bolt on turbo upgrade.

So with that said I'm looking around at the following clutch kits:
ACT HD w/ spring centered 6 puck
Fidanza 4.3 Ceramic clutch kit (also spring centered 6 puck)
Competition Clutch Stage 4 clutch kit (same deal)

This car is my DD, that will also see some strip and track time, but mostly street.
Any recommendations, from this list, others I should consider? I know, a twin disc would be the ****, but that is definately outside my price range.

Any of them should be fine for your setup. just do a search on each one, tons of data on this subject.

it depends how much power you are looking to make. If you plan on upgrading your turbo to an fp black, you should look into a twin disc.

personally i would avoid a 6 puck if you can. a full face disc drives a ton better and lasts longer.

I plan on goin to 350whp, maybe 400whp. But that wont happen for a while. My last Evo was 350whp and I was pretty satisfied with that amount of power. I had an ACT HD w/ street disc and Fidanza LW flywheel on my old Evo, it was ok.

I have also been looking at the Competition Clutch stage 3 now. Full disc clutch with kevlar pieces in it.

Twin disc clutches are too expensive for me right now, and my stock clutch is on its way out.
I don't mind having a little clutch chatter, as long as the clutch does its job and lasts for a good while.

If I were you I'd wait as long as possible and get an Exedy Twin or that new Quartermaster when it comes out.

Depends on how cheap the quartermaster twin will be, or how cheap I could find an exedy twin. I've seen the existing quartermaster twin for $1300 (w/ flywheel), not bad but that would be a lot of time driving around on a dying clutch. **** that. Exedy twin, $1800 w/ flywheel of course. Too much $$

I decided to go with the Competition Clutch stage 3 with the OEM throw out bearing and a resurfaced OEM flywheel. This clutch is a full face with kevlar inserts in it, which base on the reviews I've read should work quite well with my DD Evo.

I got my Exedy twin HD from Adam@MAP last yr for a pretty good price. Very satified with it. Contact Adam@MAP for a pricing on a Exedy Twin and go from there. Exedy Twin worth every pennies you will spend on it.

If you look at most of the single disc clutch kits above, they are close to a grand, if not more you might spend with flywheel. For few hundred more you get an Exedy twin disc.

Im not sure where you are getting your prices but I paid under 1350 shipped for my exedy twin hd (from an evom vendor), unless of course that 1800 includes install which would be a real solid price. But there is really no reason to get any other clutch but an exedy twin. It will hold all the power that you are planning to make and then some, is really easy to use in a DD, easy pedal, can take all the track time you want to give it and wont have bull**** issues that come with puck clutches like bad chatter and lockout issues. If the money is the only reason why you wouldnt get the exedy, or the QM, then you should think about what your driving because just the IC piping alone more than makes up the difference between a twin plate and a 6 puck w. flywheel. Good luck and go for twin.

Probably right. But I don't want to wait to save up more $$, when I have a pretty much dead clutch. I don't want to risk having this clutch completely fail on me. And I just changed my order from the Competition Clutch stage 3 to the Fidanza 4.3 Ceramic. Yea I'm indecisive as **** I figure when I have the $$ for an Exedy twin, I'll get it if I really need it.

Do not buy a fidanza!

I currently have a Exedy twin w/ push pull conversion and love it. Any aftermarket performance clutch is going to have lots of chatter. Do a search on me for the reason to stay away from fidanza.
