timing issues continued?? i'm guessing bad ecu

again same thing happened as i posted before about...

car is riding fine, timing is dead on..everything perfect...than all of a sudden i start knocking out of no where.

i notice at idle the boost gauge now reads -30 and it used to read -21 at idle.

and again if i datalog my timing advance...if i hit gas at idle timing goes up to 50 constant...and if driving under boost it never goes under 25 degrees.

i would have to reflash the ecu, which will give an error, and sometimes it will take. for it to drive normal again....but eventually it goes back to the timing being off....

bad ecu?

i posted the high....both high and low are same....also since i have the tephra mod i looked at the alternate timin maps..and they are all normal as well...idk where my ecu is pulling these numbers from.

mel, i tried both 0008 and 0015....

i ran 0015 for a while...but i was havin some issues with the 3 port so i said mm lemme put baack 0008 to see what happens..turns out a egr hose was off...but now if flashin either rom ID..it seems this timin issue comes back...

i went to track last night ran 12.5 2103 because i had to let off....car ran fine on way up there but for some reason after the run this issue came about..so i log on wa home to see what issue was..and this again...

idk why it keeps doing this......i couldn't get the 0015 to stop cutting fuel though on decel..which is why i wanted the 0008 back...

also note, the first time this happened before that I did get an error in ecu flash, but it said to basically try again..after which it seemed to go threw...

also note i do have an old cable so i have to use the old 1.34 version of ecu flash....never had an issue before though until this weekend...but like i said previously, it will run fine, than this issue comes into play after..so i really dk whats triggering it

thats crazy how it goes from having 0 knock throughout to 35 counts..i say its either that phantom knock when somethings rattling at a certain RPM and the knock sensor thinks its knock or like you said bad ecu..best bet is to swap ecus with someone and see what happens

You'd have to launch your car into outer space to get a reading of -30. You need a new gauge.

a "shot in the dark" but have u been playing w/ a v.5 rom, and a v.7 rom on the same comp.? I had a similar issue w/ my rom doing weird ****, to find out, that my comp. was cacheing old .xml,s and mixing up the .different roms...

Im actually having my own issue I think Im gonna have to start a thread 4, w/ timing logged vs map and Im logging both timing MUT 06, and 33...
