when i called the closest dealer they told me that they did not have the seal i needed. on that website you provided it shows a t-case seal kit with a few seals in it for like $50...the seals pictured are all round and the one that i pulled out of the tail section when removing the 4 bolts was round but not perfectly round. again not to sound like a noob i just want to make sure i would be purchasing the right part as i dont really have money to throw around at this moment

its not that seal...its a thin o-ring type of seal that is about the size of a baseball or softball...its right in the tail section when you take out the bolts...apparently mine got pinched and was leaking...wish i could take a pic but i misplaced the bad seal when i took it out

Alright, I know what seal you're talking about now but can't find it in any diagram. Sucks that you lost it because you probably could have matched it up with something at a hardware store. It's just a normal o-ring besides for being pretty big.

Honestly if you can only get it in a $50 kit, I would use the old one with some rtv to seal it up.

I can't believe it Mitsu doesn't have a part number for that o-ring. Curious as to what Shep and the others do about it. The weird shape would make it hard to use a round o-ring...I wonder if they just use rtv when that seal is damaged.

Doesn't seem to included in the kit Mitsu offers either! For anyone else wondering this is the ring in question...

well the more i search through the forums im seeing that alot of people just use ultra grey RTV...

here are other links to the same issue im having:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ber-oring.html

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ring-help.html

here is an email i received from jacks...hope this helps others:

Hi,

Mitsubishi does not sell a ‘form fitted’ seal for this, but we do have a Mitsubishi seal that will work just fine. It will require you use a small amount of sealant to initially hold the seal in place, but it will work fine. We sell the seal for $3.90 plus shipping. If you live in the domestic us, I can snail mail it to you for $.75.

If you are interested, you can send payment to us via PayPal at: sales@jackstransmissions.com

Thanks!
Tim
