Question : driveshaft to Tcase rubber/oring

Hey, random question that needs to be answered quick..

The weird shaped rubber ring that fits between where the transfer case and the driveshaft meet.

When I removed my driveshaft from the tcase I noticed the O ring was torn /seperated cleanly from each other.. This isn't how it should be correct?

The one in the picture

The one that fits HERE :

You can see the outline of where the oring is.. Almost shaped like an exhaust gasket

stealership, or contact Shep, Jacks, TRE, Buschur, MAP, ect. Anyone of the listed places should be able to source that part for you. I would start at the dealership if you have one close.

did you really unbolt the back part of the transfercase to remove the driveshaft? dont you know it slides out? you didn't have to unbolt anything on the transfercase.

i can see everything Mitsubishi sees because i have the Mitsubishi parts applications they use.. i need more info before i can help you though.

if it really is where you circled in that picture then chances are there are no gaskets.

Yeah.. I made a dumb mistake. I was following a DIY when I took out the Tcase and we ended up removing that.. Once It was off I was like wow.. That didn't need to come off..

The o ring that is in there is cut..

Tom I'll take pictures in a few minutes of the actual oring.

here it is :

... I need to figure something out.. Putting the car back together tomorrow and would rather not use this O ring.. unless I can bond it or something.. When it came out it was like this ... and didn't leak.. Might be okay.

there is no part # for that piece. use ultra gray rtv. just make sure you let it sit a bit so it doesn't move as you put it back together. also even torque across the bolts so it smashes evenly. re-align it on the piece where you see its outlines from when it was previously pressed against it. id rtv the entire oring gasket thing and let it cure so it stays in place then torque down to spec.

either rtv or grease so it sticks in place.. up to you.

Exactly what I did Tom, thank you for the input man I appreciate it.

I love the evo community definitely the best support thus far.

Car is running strong with new engine mounts, a built t case with LSD and a fresh new wheels setup..

Let me know when we can adjust my tune okay Tom?

and paypal still lol
