What do you think about the megan downpipe

I've been looking at buying a megan downpipe for my evo8. I just want to see some opinions and what you fine people on this site think about the dp.

Some like megan racing products some hate them. Your gonna get some mixed answers. My personal opinion is it's a down pipe, yo. Don't need to spend an insane amount of
money on one. If I were you I would just save and buy a straight turbo back exhaust instead of just piecing one together. That way you know everything fits perfectly.

i already have a greddy titanium catback and that vibrant hi flow cat. yea thats the main reason I'm buying it though, cause its cheap and it is just a pipe. I kind of went all out on the catback, so now I'm looking for something cheap.

Gotcha, then do it. I have a Megan exhaust mani. And have no problems with it (no flaming). You're right a down pipe is just that... A pipe.

I run the megan and I had zero fitment issues and it performs well...I would recommend wrapping the dp in heat wrap, just like anyone should with any aftermarket dp due to it running right next to the oil pan...this keeps the heat away from heating up the oil...so I'd say the megan is def worth it for the price.

Or look on the for sale section here for good deals on something used. I got a whole exhaust system used for 275. No reason to spend insane amounts of money on a 3" pipe.

They are good to go. Esp these days after a few revisions. Anyone telling you different has zero personal knowledge, or is FLAT OUT lying to you. I'm still running the original preproduction 03/04 turbo back from Megan when the USDM units were developed. Good to go!

I only carry Megan products because they convinced me to start carrying parts as apposed to just service. At the time, the only thing available was the ridiculously over priced JDM crap. Not crap in quality, but total BS in profit. It was my little sand in the face of that market at the time. Now there are a lot of great domestic "made in the USA" options out there too!
