Do you know what kind of clutch it has. My car did this going into 4th at high rpm and it was an act clutch, which I think if you search you will see multiple instances of this. Also could be syncros

Whining is a VERY bad thing.

Shoulda did a lil more reasearch before you bought it to know what to look out for.

yeah if your talking about a trasfer case whine you might have a problem, have someone thats knowledgable check it out. Thats one of the more expensive fixes

More than likely a synchro problem. I am having the same problem with mine. However I didn't with the Twin plate and am on my new Triple. Maybe that will go away once my triple breaks in. idk I may have a synchro problem too because it grind even during normal shifting into 4th and 5th.

sounds like you have some bad syncros in the tranny and the TC is on its way out from what you are describing. If so that's a few G's there buddy. Have someone that knows about these cars take a look at it.

wow man, that's a great price. I'd check something stupid first.

Are all the tires the same? Same tread, same brand etc. If not the transfer case can be working hard to match the speeds and causing "grind" "whine"

CHange to diaqueen fluid. If this doesn't fix it.

Pull tranny, inspect to see if it's act. You can just change the clutch or get the transmission rebuilt stage 1 by shep or Jon@tre to fix the synchro problem or it's a clutch problem.

But do the "simple" things first.

What was the mileage and more info, because 10k is a dream

03 111K.

FROM what i read tranny take GL-4 75w-90 and t/c and rear end take sae 90w GL-5

but i can get royal purple 75w90 GL-5 from which i understand GL-4 updates to the GL-5..

so in essence i can run the same fluid in all 3 components?

tranny- 3qts
T/C- .63 Qts
Rear- .58 Qts

all of GL-5 royal purple full synthetic sae 75w90.... correct?
