I'm in the middle of a rebuild so I need to replace the oil cooler. Can anyone tell me if the oil cooler from an Evo VIII is compatible on an Evo IX? I've seen a couple of pictures from an VIII's engine pull, and it looks like the oil cooler is mounted on the shortblock. My IX has it mounted off under the crash beam. I will be reusing the lines, but I need to know if I can buy a used VIII oil cooler and utilize the core.

The late model JDM EVO 8's (JAN 2004-'till the 9) used MN180105. I would go w/the 9 part number.
Oil Coolers
EVO 1-3 = MB890995
EVO 4 = MR258838
EVO 5 = MR431403
EVO 6 = MR464544
EVO 7/8 = MR464630
EVO 9 = MN180105 (probably the biggest)

they are both mounted in fender. they are inter changable. but 9 is bigger 11 row. the 8 is a 9 row cooler.
I bought a used VIII oil cooler to go on my IX. All of the hardware is the same. Shouldn't be any issues.
