Ditch the Injen LICP or whatever LICP you have and get an ETS V2 LICP to improve spool.

You say you have headers (for turbo cars it is an exhaust manifold), but you should also get an O2 housing to improve spool.

Overall, your engine in the size of a soda bottle, 2.0L, and a huge turbo so lag is inevitable, but my recommendations should help.

A fuel rail or FPR will do nothing for your car at this point. Getting a FPR is total unnecessary on Evos.

Here are somethings that will help.
02 housing
ported exhaust manifold
cams
Intercooler

If you dont have a tune that will be the best thing you can do for the car at this point.

what turbo do you have?

a meth kit would help with tq but if you want real low end off the line tq i would say you have to get a 2.3 or 2.4 then the low end would be great!

Tuning is just about the only thing thats going to give you real gains down low. Besides that theres pretty much you can do for a significant gain other than swap to an even smaller turbo. Its give and take with turbo cars, worth sacrifice that most will agree with. If not thats why there are v8's too =-)

Cheers!

I vote on the stroker. Either the 2.3 or the 3.4. That'll give you noticeably more low end torque.

Here's what I would do, if I was retaining the stock block along w/ a Oem turbo or stock like turbo up grade.
-MAPerformance Port and polish on the oem like turbo, oem intake mani & TB, oem exhaust mani, Ebay O2 housing/ or better yet, Shearer or Maperformance O2 dump and keep the oem exhaust. To keep everything quiet until WOT
-Buschur Racing FMIC with 2.5 piping all the way around
-Upgrade fuel injectors to 800-1000 cc w/ fuel pump. Buschur double FP if your running E85 w/ 1200 - 1600cc injectors
-260 or 270 cams w/ (valve spring kit for s & gs)
-ARP head studs
-Perrin cold air intake w/ buschur 80mm pipe
-MBC and A/F / boost monitors
-OS Giken clutch (it's so quiet)
-Finally a good tune at 22-24 psi on 93 pump
400+ whp setup

2.4 is a completely different engine, the 2.3 stroker is based off of the 2.0 so there is a core charge. to simply answer your question, no not really, all you are doing is increasing the size which will make a huge difference in the torque the engine puts out.

I picked up close to 70-85 ft. lbs of torque on my setup - HUGE spooling and driving around town difference. Never been in a 2.4 so I can't comment but the torque doesn't seem to much different between the 2.

I like the stroker idea but at this point a 2.3 or a 2.4 will add no real benefit maybe 200-300rpm spool, because the setup is basically still OEM. Money would be better spent on a tune and making the set up more efficient before building a stroker.
