any interchangable block with the evo's 4g63 ? I'm having hard time finding a 4g63 evo block over here, any other mitsu use similar block that can be used instead of the evo's ?

I replaced my "pulley" with a Fluidmpr unit. Did you use the stock unit?
To the other person that cracked at the same spot, did you also use the stock "crank pulley" ?

clutch and flywheel imbalance would be more likely than a damper problem.

What size bearings are in there? Typically they break on a launch if they are going to do it. Mine is fine...knock on wood....and I do rape on it frequently.

The only time I saw a break like this was when a guy brought me his motor, trans, still together. I pulled everything apart but found that his Exedy twin hadn't been properly aligned and was therefore out of balance and revved pretty high fairly regularly. The alignment marks (paint strip) on the Exedy has to be re-aligned correctly. His crank broke was almost identical to this one.

yep mine broke almost excatly the same, and i was told it could of been due to the clutch/fly that prolbaly wasnt aligned correctly.. owell gave me a reason to build my motor

This is pretty common among 2.4 cranks in both the 6bolt dsm and the 7bolt evo world. I personally believe it's probably caused due to the additional torque the engines produce.
