Hate to sound like a know-it-all, but pipes with no beads will blow off sooner or later. This is a fact that cannot be disputed.

I am going with the Buschur Racing setup, It is way shorter then that pipe and comes WITH a Crushed 1G BOV (Holds 25+ PSI and works as stock) and is only $300. You have to move the battery but damn it is the best on the market, 1 piece, most strait design, each turn takes WHP and throttle response.

I saw this Kit on a Z1 car, they fit FINE but I think it is stupid to engineer around soumthing like a battery, I will go with BR and get a smaller battery.

In WI you might be able to have it made (not mandrel bent, but cut and sectioned) and powdercoated for $400-$450.00 with the BOV flange. Having built our own IC pipes for a long time, I know what the costs are for materials and time, and they are not as "cheap" to make as people think. Beads are part of the production units BTW

It was done around the stock battery for the sheer sake of not having to buy something else.

zstryder - beads are a simple additional weld that goesaround the edge of the pipe that basically gives the coupler something to grip to (rather than a constant diamter pipe which over time might pop off, even with a strong clamp)

Exactly, not $800...

I know I am in competition for business but DAMN, that pipe and pricing is a JOKE. They should be ashamed! $800 for mild steel powder coated tubing! Holy crap! I have to start ripping you guys off and making some real money! haha

That tubing doesn't even have bead rolls on the end, I gaurantee sooner or later they are going to blow off. They take the same routing as the stock plumbing which makes NO sense. You may as well keep the stock parts on the car.

Our pipe kit has 6 less bends and 16" less travel than stock, is polished stainless steel, comes with all the couplings and an upgraded BOV for $330. This requires the mini battery kit that is 20 pounds less than stock, has a CNC cut lower aluminum battery tray and SS upper mount it is $225.

Total cost for the upgrade $555. Benefits: 6 less bends, 16" shorter i/c plumbing, bead rolled ends, polished SS construction (or you can have black powder coating for $30 less and the tubing is STILL 304 stainless steel underneath), you loose 20 pounds off the front of the car and it looks SWEET.

I just don't get the price or design of that plumbing kit. Please don't take this as a personal attack. I just think Unorthodox has is ripping you off.

My thoughts exactly.
800 bucks for some bling in the bay and no reduction in flow restriction?
No thanks, I'll relocate my battery and take David's cheap, shiny, effective piping. ::

I'm sure someone will buy it, but it's a lot of money for just a show mod, IMO.

I'm with Buschur as well. Most of my mods are Buschur parts. They stand behind quality
and that's what I dig. Quality parts at a decent price, and substantial gains
in HP as well. Can't beat that with a $800 pipe.

Spoken from the source of performance parts himself. Thanks David... makes my previous statement hold some water that these are way over priced.

David,

I don't mind having to get a mini battery kit, but would like to retain the stock air box/induction. Do your pipes clear the stock intake box? and is there any trimming or minor mods that need to be made to fit the pipes ie: trimming plastic undertray?
