Need help fast

I'm about to put my thermostat in and was wondering if I should need to worry about air bubbles getting in my cooling system and if so what can I do to prevent this? I searched for a thermostat install to see if there was something on the subject, but had no luck. Is all you have to do really just drain the coolant, unbolt the three bolts in the thermostat housing, pull out the old thermostat, pop in the new one and fill it back up? Also roughly how much coolant do these cars take? Thanks, Braden
