I bought the COP system because my stock wires/coils were due to be replaced anyway. that system is better than the stock stuff, so I bought it. not so much for performance, but for reliability/longevity. it wasn't a performance modification, it was a necessary replacement.

It sounds like an ignition issue to me tho. cracked plug, carbon tracing, dead coil ( yes i read you have sparktech, but no one is perfect). See if you notice it get worse with more engine load like getting on it up a hill in a longer gear than you should, basically lug it at full boost. Also pay attention to if it gets worse when its humid or rainy, that would be another thing that points to ignition.
it's funny you say that. I've noticed a few of those things. i was thinking it was ignition too because it seems like the car is choking on fuel.

I'm gonna go down the line. I'm going to start with the easiest thing which is to check all my hose connections first to see if there are any obvious leaks, then replace the plugs, then replace the other parts i listed earlier.

as i said in my earlier post, there are parts i was planning on changing soon anyway just as preventative maintenance. looks like i need to advance the schedule a bit lol

I had these exact same symptoms, bogging at high rpm's, normal boost pressure, and occurred somewhat at random.

Solution: Spark plugs

yeah, i've been leaning toward the ignition system since this all began because it feels like the car is missing, and i can't get it to repeat itself on command. it seems that if it were a boost leak, the issue would happen every time. it only happens sometimes.

okay, anyone know where to get the stock spark plugs ILFR7H locally? I don't really want to have to wait for them to be shipped. does anyone know of any autoparts stores that carry that size?

Try the plugs, make sure the gap is good. The gap on the ones you remove might be a little too much.

I also have a prob with my TPS now, once every 3 months or so. Bogs and cuts out, back off gas and it's fine again. But the check engine light comes on when that happens. Thank goodness I carry around my scanner at all times.

Good Luck.

I had an issue with the random misfire code on myly 03 any time I tried to cruise steady state for longer than a minute. I removed that code and all was well. It was a p0300 I beleive.

I just purchased some plugs at rockauto. About $45 delivered via priority mail. Took 2 days.

i know this might not seem appropriate, but what does your WB02 read when this happens? Reason I ask, is I had a similar issue, it was an O-Ring gasket on one of the injectors.

changed the plugs, and the car's running great now. seems like a short interval for plugs though. my first set was still good at the recommended 60k mile change. since then, i've only been able to get 40k miles or less out of a set.

^ Which plugs are you running? Sorry if I missed that and you already said it...

Also, is it possible the greater intensity of the COP is wearing out the plugs quicker than the oe ignition system?

I'm running the stock NGK ILFH7R's. as for the COP's, I didn't install them until around 130-140k miles along with new plugs, and before that, i'd already gone through a set or two of spark plugs that didn't last as long as i thought they should have.

I had a similar problem. I would go WOT and then it would lose power. I was told by everybody that I had every problem, from bad fuel pump to timing belt off 1 tooth. I just replaced the spark plugs and problem solved.
