As it goes for intakes most dont understand how much work it goes in to making one.... I think Dave and I worked more on designing an intake that makes the best all around power than anyone! I can make a manifold that will make awesome peak power but looses low/midrange. What other companies advertise is just physically not possible.....

For over past two years its been proven that its not about the peak power. Small turbos, smaller intakes smaller cams all have proven to be faster than big turbos, cams and intakes... Its all in the combination!

Just want to clear things up about why you want to use stock ported manifold for anything under 600whp. A good aftermarket intake will show very good gains way below 600whp. If making power is what you want than aftermarket intake manifold will show gains. Of course there are draw backs to it at the lower power level! You loose responsiveness and low/mid range. To me responsiveness is everything, so I would agree with Dave on using stock ported manifold for lower power levels. I say about 550 DJ whp thow haha

So what would be the best intake manifold for a 2.3/2.4l motor?

Sounds like Buschur or DI. Id say the only thing that will affect your choice will be price. I cant wait until I can get an aftermarket manifold! Performance aside, they just make an engine bay look so much cleaner.

For reference, I believe our intake has the longest runner available, we did it to keep as much low/mid range as possible and runner length along with plenum size both play the largest effect on where the engine makes it's power.

Also guys keep in mind that Mike at AWDMotorsports did just run 8.90's on our standard hand ported stock intake manifold!

million dollar question is what would it run with your fabricated intake?

The testing will be conducted within a short time frame with as close to the same AFR, boost, starting AIT's etc.. The shop has both the Magnus V5 and AMS F1-i that they are willing to lend me for testing. I am also in talks with a magazine that may publish an article on the testing. I will know more next week. If anyone has a Buschur intake or other manifold they would like tested please feel free to shoot me a PM.
any updates?

The hot ticket changes every 6 months, some of it is a result of engineering some of it is a result of marketing.

Either way, if you can run 8 second quarter miles on the stock intake manifold how much are you giving up by not running one?

As long as you are adding content, get it right, "if you can run 8 second..." Mike at AWD just went 8's on a BR ported stock intake.

that would be my interest as well. Now, from what i have seen on BR website his intake is sheet metal, correct?
nothing against sheet metal but living in cali, i like to stay away from shiny objects in the engine bay..
how about cast ??
now is this an option BR or anyone offers aside AMS and Magnus ?? that will work with a mild turbo and a stroker set up ??
