CWill mentioned they have fab'd ac lines to work with a civic compressor. I PM'd him for more information.

I guess my concern run a FF setup would be (getting water in the turbo if its raining really hard) and debris/dirt.

DB you mention having a filter with your FF, whats your take on a FF kit for a daily driver. Not worth it?

Your concerns are good ones. I would not run a forward facing turbo without a filter and a means of stopping the rain from entering. I would consider the Buschur unit, it is designed for a filter and comes with a quickly attachable cover.

Str8 from the AEM w/ mishimoto honda 1/2 size... Cruising 185-195...

Stoplight to stoplight... 185 - 200... And have already had to cut the a/c off and pull over twice. I dont lke the evo going over 200.

I am using a discount autoparts 50dollar electric fan.

I am considering a FAL or SPAL, but i dont want to spend 180 on a fan for it to still get hot. I have the aem set to turn on the fan at 170... but not much luck. FLORIDA heat is something you cannot mess with.

PS I hate cooling issues.

Yes, I think a forward facing kit is worth it for daily driving, my car isn't a drag car! We supply a large filter, large enough for 700+ whp on our dyno and a carbon fiber cover for the grille so if it does rain you can install the cover so water isn't forced into the turbo.

I wouldn't consider running my car without a filter on it, on the street. You ever see how many bugs are on the front of your car? How about the stone chips? You want that crap in your engine and turbo? I sure don't.

Thanks DB. Does the housing blanket and carbon cover work with other FF facing kits? Just curious. If I do do it I'm really down to yours and FABWORX.

Its interesting that you don't mind it for a DD. I've seen a lot of people almost call someone stupid for even considering it.

The housing blanket works on an T3/T4 or stock EVO turbo and we sell those seperately. The filter and carbon cover are not sold seperately.

For most of the FF kits I'd agree that they are not for daily driving, that's why we built our own so we can run a filter and the cover. The other kit you posted pics of will not allow a filter from what I can see and if it does it will be too small to make big power through.

Just my thoughts, I wasn't too concerned about the couple HP I was going to lose with a filter on. I built my setup to make the most power possible when in race mode (filter off).

A big filter is nice, but I have to assume you have to compromise the first bend of the downpipe (off radius cut or very tight bend radius) to get the turbo back far enough to fit a larger filter?

Seems like you are trading off exhaust flow for filtered air. In theory. I doubt you'd see much of a change though with the downpipe, just thought it might be worth talking about.

The downpipe we built for the car would be hard to improve on, I'd say it's better than most if not all standard kits. We set our kit on an angle to the front of the car instead of dead on straight, which made it possible to have a custom filter built by Green Filters to fit.

I also think the filter being out there in the open basically helps. My filter is not that big and my kit and I still went 150 with the filter on. I do think a small filter like this on a standard turbo kit would hurt power.

Or if you are drag racing and worried about power take the filter off and run it open or with a mesh overlay. My main concern was Daily driving.

Thanks DB....if I decide to go big turbo I will most likely be going Buschur.

You kit is VBand as well correct......and I can run a 6262?

I dont think the FF turbo was designed around people that want air and everything to bolt up perfectly etc etc- im sure people figure out ways to do it but, if your only in it for the look id just get something else that gives you the exact same performance with less hassle. Not to mention many drag cars do the front face turbo for a reason, and it doesnt rain or snow in a quarter mile,so id be very careful

Yes, our kit fits with the 6262 but not as perfectly at the Garrett turbos, unless you have that turbo already I'd recommend something else.

itanlianevo88, your statement about buying something else that gives you the exact same performance is incorrect. If the FF kit wasn't beneficial none of us would bother, so you aren't going to get the "exact same performance" in a non-FF kit as you are with one.

What turbo would you recommend for a built 2.0 with 10.1 compression.
