Robert at FP said he can make a BLACK with stock housing if requested.

I too like the whistle. Makes my evo sound like a fighter jet.

Interestingly those that bought HKS versions of the GT3076R (GT3037S) get the bell mouthed insert that housing was designed to have . I don't know for certain but it may also dampen the sonic shriek coming from the radial slot in the housings snout .

Ask Robert , cheers A .

Lovely sound from your FP Black vid, Rockster! It reminds me of the whistle from my HX-50 hybrid turbo on my Dodge TurboDiesel Cummins. Simply a lovely sound.

Also, you are right that as you go from Black-Red-HTA Green, the sound diminishes. The Black's larger compressor wheel compared to the Red, compounded by the FP slotted cover is responsible for that splendid whistling sound.

Wow that's pretty crazy they can fit that wheel in the stock housing with out the inlet falling apart from being machined so thin. I'm looking at my black right now and it almost seems impossible.

No one has done it.

Robert, in a post on here, in the last couple months, mentioned he could make a BLACK in a stock 64mm housing if someone requested.

I dont know why you would want to do it actually, except for stealth or sandbagging reasons. It was brought up when discussing the stock appearing turbo class at the BR shootout on his forums.

And I guess I was wrong, according to Roberts quotes below, there is a couple BLACKs in stock housings already out there.

You drive it like you stole it and it will be fine, you drive it like your mama and it will surge, sure. You wont win a race driving it that way however.

With the heat shield on, it hides the turbo pretty good (if you're not really paying any attention to it). With having the stock frame on there with the heat shield most people don't think I'm really doing anything when they look under the hood of my car anyways.
