are fp-grn's as loud as fp-blk's?
the black has to have the antisurge housing. the red and greens you can opt out of them if you dont mind surge and all. LOL personally i think the whistle is pretty cool and on top of that its the sound of power lol
be happy you have one lol still plenty of owners that would love a turbo upgrade

Robert at FP said he can make a BLACK with stock housing if requested.
I too like the whistle. Makes my evo sound like a fighter jet.
Interestingly those that bought HKS versions of the GT3076R (GT3037S) get the bell mouthed insert that housing was designed to have . I don't know for certain but it may also dampen the sonic shriek coming from the radial slot in the housings snout .

Lovely sound from your FP Black vid, Rockster! It reminds me of the whistle from my HX-50 hybrid turbo on my Dodge TurboDiesel Cummins. Simply a lovely sound.
Also, you are right that as you go from Black-Red-HTA Green, the sound diminishes. The Black's larger compressor wheel compared to the Red, compounded by the FP slotted cover is responsible for that splendid whistling sound.

Wow that's pretty crazy they can fit that wheel in the stock housing with out the inlet falling apart from being machined so thin. I'm looking at my black right now and it almost seems impossible.
Just quoting something Robert himself posted on this forum. The actual possibility of it, I dont know.
I DONT know about making a black in a complete stock housing i have not heard or seen anybody do this or have one. Thanks sparky its sounds amazing my car but will be even better once im there in person LOL and its complete fp cams built 2.4 and fp black so far are turning out to be the better choice for me

No one has done it.
Robert, in a post on here, in the last couple months, mentioned he could make a BLACK in a stock 64mm housing if someone requested.
And I guess I was wrong, according to Roberts quotes below, there is a couple BLACKs in stock housings already out there.

interesting but i rather have the 300 dollar housing lol then to not get it then spend more money and down time getting it. LOL besides if you have stock head shield etc on its hard to make out turbo anyways. Im happy with the surge cover personally i want every advantage possible and sometimes IN TOW N you drive like your mama lol going to the store, work etc. Cant be driving on kill mode 24/7

With the heat shield on, it hides the turbo pretty good (if you're not really paying any attention to it). With having the stock frame on there with the heat shield most people don't think I'm really doing anything when they look under the hood of my car anyways.
