My Evo 9 engine ticks randomly (mostly when I start it up - but then when I let it cool down it ticks too). Sound seems to be coming from the cylinders.

I am pretty sure this is the lifters, but I thought this wouldnt be a problem on a MIVEC engine?

Are any of you able to shed some light on this for me - I am stressing hardout!

I'm gonna take it to my mechanic this week just to be totally sure, but would be great if I have some idea of what I'm likely to be dealing with.

yeah it might be your lifters. 4g63's have a long history on lifters going out lol

 

Thanks mate, do you know if I'm running the risk of damaging my engine by driving it with busted lifters?
