However, I still have a full second round of mods I didnt need right away and want to have for this build.
doubt it seriously. both of those require core charges thats one for another a 2.2 can get alittle pricy. three a 2.0 is really for dragging. with the displacement of the 2.4 we get into the power quick and can be used for a range of things besides dragging. Now of course there is nothing wrong with a 2.0 has its place i just think from all my research a 2.2-2.4 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better for the streets

I will be doing mostly road racing btw
aaron

I'm scared because I will be using the car mostly for road racing which is why I'm hesitant of going the stroker route

Finally got the car back a couple of weeks ago. Ran fine for about a week until it started to overheat. I found out the thermostat housing was not seated right on the o-ring and was spraying coolant all over.
I was under the car and found a small oil leak from the oil pan, so I needed to seal that. While under the car I noticed several vac lines were not connected. Connected them and started up the car. Drove for 30 min making sure the car was good and not overheating then did a few WOT runs. Car boosted over 30psi...when it is only tuned for 27psi. The tune needs to be tweaked again. Thus, I turned down my mbc and boost at 25psi for now...

Due to a failed intake cam, I am now back to shopping for several parts.
Anyone got input on these?
FP5r cams
AEM tru-time adjustable cam gear
Race head
Springs

Dude that's really crappy luck.
As far as the cams go, I really think the FP5R cams aren't the proper cams for a black and 2.4. You're not going to rev the motor out to 9k which is what those are designed for.
I'm running the cams that English Racing developed along with GSC specifically for this combo. I would call and talk to Aaron at English Racing. They're about $70 cheaper too if I remember right.
Springs, I'm running GSC beehives in a MAP Stage 3 ported head.
