serpentine tensioner
serpentine tensioner
Need help..
How do you install this?
replaced the alternator (same one) and i cant put the tensioner back. two bolts just refuse to go in because of the spring tension...
After messing with it for a long time this is what happened; I guess i have to buy a new one now..
and does anybody have a part number for this item?
top and the bottom came apart and spring is out
Let me know if someone has one of these for sale
I am going to get another one but i still need help how to put this thing back in.
thanks

ouch..
To remove the tensioner, I used a breaker bar ( on that square) and used it to relieve tension on the belt. Then I used a small allen key to wedge it to keep tension off so it wont roll back. If you look carefully you will see where there is a good spot to place this at. WIth the tensioner secured you have both hands free to remove the belt. After you remove the belt, you are ready to remove the tensioner. Use the breaker bar to slowly realease the tension, and remove the allen key. Unbolt the tensioner. Install new one in reverse order.
