ACT high rpm lockout

I installed an ACT streetlite flywheel, street disc and XD pressure plate. On my 6spd MR and now I cannot shift to next gear over 7K rpm's. Below 7K seems to be OK.

I've adjusted the clutch pedal from OE position to where the pushrod is preloaded and still get the same thing.

I know alot has been posted but I'm wondering if anyone has figured the cause .

Heavier disc?, release issue? not enough pressure plate travel?

It's very frustrating as it's cost me precious time in my last 2 AX events and I fear trans damage will soon follow.
I'll be contacting ACT very soon.

TIA

A long time ago, before we got the Evo, ACT use to have much tighter tolerances on the disc center piece. They fit beautifully and the 2600 was the gold standard in the DSM community. Sometime around 2003-2005 they changed the design of the disc and possibly went with a different manufacturer that ended up having much looser tolerances at the splines.

This caused a hit or miss situation with the discs being too loose causing lots of problems with gear lockout and also the clutch grabbing when trying to launch at the drag strip. On top of that, all the sudden there were more and more reported issues of springs popping out and broken discs. I remember English Racing (well, Lucas) talking about the discs slop on the splines after the change and that he wouldnt recommend new 2600's to customers (this was back in like 2005-2006)

I cant say for sure, but it sounds like there's the same issues with the Evo.

I had mine installed by RRE, stock flywheel, unsprung street disk and extream pressure plate. Never had any issues shifting my 505whp at 8K.

The street discs are known for lock issues due to the lightness of the disc.I went with the 6 puck with street flywheel Rev the car to 8,000 rpms at 560 whp with no lockout the 6 pucks are known not to lock at but they are harsh for everyday driving but once you get use to it ,it's not bad to drive..I would have stm adjust it for you, sometimes once you install it you have to readjust it again after for smoothness or reduce lockout.
