im not arguing the fact that you dd it, im saying its bad for the motor. especially a fresh motor with poor ring seal. there is no reason a reputable tuner cant supply a decent base map to get you to his shop.

i understand its bad... i know its bad lol. but it can be done if someone doesnt have ecuflash/evoscan/etc

best thing would be to install them right before your tune at the place you are getting tuned. i dont happen to have any logging/flashing tools, so i installed mine the morning of and stayed under 3000k the whole way there.

Most reputable tuners will not tune a car if they are not in front of it. I had the same issue, and I had to work on my cold start for a whole day in order to get her started and be able to drive to CT this coming Sunday.

We don't recommend driving a modded car on upgraded injectors any length of time. I always either send my customers a base tune so they can drive to me for the full tune or ask them to bring the injectors to be installed when they arrive.

Alright, I'm trying to make an injector decision based on my idea od having headroom. Ix turbo, needs to be e85 friendly although I will not be getting tuned for e85 yet . I'm not expecting more then 25 psi. Looking at fic 1050. Should I go larger?

here's an example that should help:

FIC 1050 single walbro
e85 440awhp 90% IDC 12.0AFR

that's going to be cutting it pretty close with a 1050cc on e85 but it will work. If you foresee making more power than that with another turbo someday then I suggest the FIC 1450cc and if you can spend a little more for the newer style High Impedance injectors then the FIC 1680 would be great.

I think 1450cc injectors are the perfect injector mix. I went from pte 1000cc to those thanks to mellons pricing and perfect on e85 not even working hard breaking a sweat plenty of gas etc that could be because of my other mods but ill be in the 600+ range soon. All i know is when i need some new injectors ASAP on the spot mellon stepped up and had them shipped instantly to the shop so my dyno tune could happen all this at a baller price

yeah the FIC 1450's are good stuff, we used to do a lot of PTE 1200 for that hp range but they don't start as well. I don't think the three huge nostrils on them atomize the fuel well.

We've swapped over our 3 shop cars to FIC 2150's for e85 and never looked back.

FIC 2150 dual walbro
e85 655awhp 54-55% IDC 12.1AFR
fp black @ 40psi

FIC 2150 dual walbro
e85 590awhp 50% IDC 11.8AFR
fp black @ 31psi

2 from my car above. I think its interesting the idc is only 4-5% different from 9psi more boost. granted the afr is .3 richer but still.. not much difference.

I think fic bluemax 1450 would be plenty for my setup, the 2150 are just overkill.

yep and plenty of room to grow should you need 800+awhp later on. It's truly the first/last injector purchase anyone needs to make. Eventually that entry price may come down.
