evo oil cooler mod?

to start off i don't have an oil cooler right now since my other motor blew up and it was not safe to use the one that was on... i was wondering if i would be able to buy an ebay oil cooler... ive seen others run it. I just had an idea pop in my head... what if i put a fan on just the back of the oil cooler or front and back for when i do autocross... would there be any advantage of putting fans on the oil cooler and wiring a switch to turn on when autocrossing... maybe an advantage of some sort.

let me know what your thoughts are about modding a stock or aftermarket oil cooler....

the ams kit looks like a very well pieced kit as to all their products, do it right the first time so you dont have to do it again

Man i just don't get it. EBAY is CRAP, i mean come on...not that i'm trying to insult you hear don't get me wrong. But Ebay and Evo don't go together....even if they both start with the same letter. You get what you pay for, bottom line! IMO AMS oil cooler, or HKS theres a few out there that have a nice kit.

Then again its not my car...

I just used the stock one over again. $270 for the core. Its recommended not to reuse the inlet/return lines tho either since you cant see if you got all the debri's out of them.

I used the stm kit on my car....it has a b&m cooler..only downside is you need to fab some sort of mount up for it...i run a mini spal pusher fan on it as well...helped oil temps stay in check during around town driving, not much difference on the freeway though....

seriously! Get the STM kit for half of that. You can also peice out a B&M cooler for around $100 thats actually larger than the oem one. Just fab up your own lines and you might still be around cheaper than STM.

http://www.maperformance.com/map-oil...ck-xx-evo.html but i prolly go with what Tommi said or just get the stm kit thats what i do go the stm route. Either buying your own parts to make it or buying the kit

ok im looking into that stm oil cooler... also a friend refered me to a cx racing one and said he would help me make a bracket for it to fit and also mod me it to have a puller fan behind it. He says he does this on his sr20 240sx. Also i guess they offer bigger or same size as stock ... what do you guys think?
