Will the Meth injection cancel out the 91oct and make it perhaps a little like 93? and then there wont be as much worry or is it a lost cause and better stick with the green or HKS? I guess its all about drivability huh?

none of these turbos will affect "driveability", unless ur talking about spool loss, or transient response.
Meth is the equivilent of ~ 100 octane.
all of these options, now, its hard to decide...
This new HKS turbo looks quite promising...

The Meth injection will allow you to squeeze more out of the turbo's.

I would move to the HKS turbo...and if its not enough further down the road...you can jump to a 3586 or FP black lol.

Check out CBRD and the BBK...it may be good for you and 91 octane. Chad is a good guy and real easy to talk to...I'm not saying you have to go with it...but the more options the better.

also you have a 9 turbo so the BBK upgrade will be less $$

Man o man, now I'm just way more confused than I was when we started!! ;P FP to HKS to BBK!!! I guess everyone has their personal choice and I think I'll just have to make mine. But let's not get it twisted, I will be doing all the research possible and will be talking to people about HKS and BBK. Does anyone by chance have. any numbers from the three different turbos?? Thanks for all the help!!

Numbers as in whp? I know that on CBRDs dyno with the BBK full and some cams...and the other bolt ons to go with it you can make 380-400whp (they have a really low reading dyno so thats actually quite a bit on others). As for spool its stock like. http://www.cbrdspeedfactory.com/Abou...CBRDStore.aspx its only 1,250 with a good core (evo 9). I dont know much about the fp turbos, but the new HKS turbo spools hella fast cuz its ball bearing..and from what i hear it makes similar hp to the bbk. the FP red or Black will net you the most power but for 91 octane your best bet would be the others. Good luck...and to be honest no matter what you go with your car will still be more fun then it is now.

More fun for sure! I'm going to have to look into the HKS a little more, who should I talk to about pricing and so forth? The HKS sounds like a very streetable turbo and I'm sure the ball bearings make it a pretty quick spooler. Is it a direct bolt on or do things have to be rearranged? Also I am a little concerned about how much the stock block will hold out boost wise, any info on this?

But as mentioned before I'm still in the research part of my turbo hunt, I am not sold on any particular one but I will buy one once I have found the right one! So lets go over some things that are going to be a mojor factor. I am running the stock block as mentioned above, therefore I know that i will not be able to crank the boost to ungodly limits. Secondly it will be a daily driver with occasional track time but I would say 90 to 95% is going to be street driving. Also I will be running 91oct Crap with Meth injection however, I dont know if this will make to much of a difference in regards to the choice of turbo but im sure it will be related somewhere down the line. Since I have started this thread I do feel like I have moved away form the FP Red since it seems from the input i have become that its just not the right choice. So BBK HKS and the Green are really all that remains. I'm going to have to talk with the vendors to find out some more information! Thanks alot for all the help!

you cant go wrong with an FP red. if somehow you can, then your probably a ****.

but from what ive seen "not saying its 100% true" greens blow stock motors because they can lay down some serious torque, and my friend DDs a red and his car is sweet/fast/reliable

heres my 0.02 dont have a ix i have an 03 8....buy an fp red, hta green is nice dont get me wrong...but i mean were talkin 300-400 rpms of spool up time snap your fingers there you go boost lag difference haha...more top end in favor of the fp red over green, dont buy the hks i hear there overrated. now on 91 octane on a conservative tune in 107 weather still made 385 awhp on 91 cali gas ( for those thatll talk ish about the numbers, come to cali where I got dynod and see how well you do on 91 in the middle of summer), have seen the bbk and there nice dont get me wrong, just not my cup of tea... either way you look at it sacrifice a little bit of spool up for more top end. With some turbo lag remember when cruisin on the freeway, your keepin the turbo out of the range of when it the turbo will wanna start spoolin up ie better gas mileage, who cares about torque top end is all that matters haha

I agree with you 100%. The Green is more of a stock spooling turbo with a bit more power output over stock. I say since you are running meth and **** gas you will be closer to 94 not 93 depending on the mix you use. The 84mm Red ported will be a great turbo its rated for 520 on RACE gas and mid to upper 400's on pump or pump/meth. The Black I would stay away from without a built motor and head with the extreme lag time it has its more so 1200-1500 more then stock and 700 over the red depending on the tune.
The stock motor has taken more then this but the more safe zone that is spoken of more often is 500whp and under 450 Ft/Lbs TQ the red on your combo more then likely puts you way under that. If you really want some info on what to get heres what I suggest.

1. Decide what you want the car for i.e.. Road Course/AutoX,Dragging or just DD
2. Call FP and Talk to Brian or Robert from FP at Tech Support its Option 3.
