ACT HDSS w/ FP RED

So im almost done wit my build and still have my ACT HDSS CLUTCH KIT w/ PROLITE STEEL FLYWHEEL had it for about 30k miles now tracked it a few times and launched multiple times and clutch still holds great !!

Im expecting 450whp from my fp red setup and saw that act has a rebuild kit for a good price and was wondering if the act clutch will hold the power of 440 - 450whp area and not gunna launch too much and even if i do i know how to launch well

My question is will the act hdss hold the power im expecting to produce on my new setup people tell me yes no problem and others say no way so i wanted to ask people on the forum because i believe it will hold the power and longevity of the clutch life will be great to wat ive seen so far with my own experience

I know most mechanics and tuners say this is the worst clutch on the market but ive been pleased with it and dont have the money to do a twin disc : /

thanks !

I have the same hdss and I'm looking for an upgrade from it. I dont think I have the cash for a exedy twin. Are there any clutches that can hold 450 whp and great for dd/track without the large price tag?

well im gunna be on a 450whp fp red setup i think torque will be 410-420wtq i have the act hdss now and the steel flywheel and i love it on the street dont care about the track too much

i was also considering buying the rebuild kit for the act clutch its only 500 bux and get it installed during the winter bc my setup shud be able to hold the power no problem and i can save myself a thousand dollars by goin wit a twin disc i wud have to replace in 20k when my act has held up more then expected wit 30k+ of dirving (track and street)

thanks for the help guys !

sticking wit the act

My HDSS has been in the car for 105k miles! I don't launch much but I do road race often.

The ACT is a great clutch for the money, but its not much use shifting past 7700 rpm though (lockout!). I had it on my Red setup and went the times in my sig.

Can someone say a quick blurp about how the lockout issue happens?

Agreed 100% man. Awesome clutch has held up in my car well over 70k now. But forget shifting past about 7800 just like you said.

No hating at all it's just unfortunate.
