misfire/tps
So my 2005 lancer evo mr had a misfire and I took it into the shop and said the spark plugs were melting and it needed a tps (throttle position sensor) I know what caused the plugs to melt and it's being taken care of but before it was running on 3 cylinders (due to the plugs melting) it misfired under wot/near wot and the check engine light would come on/off occasionally. was this due to the tps? and by replacing it do you think my car will go back to it's normal self or could something else be wrong?
shop says I shouldn't use cheap e3 plugs, and only one melted. says it could be running lean but I should be using correct plugs. guys at checker said I could get by by running e3s apparently not. I don't know what else it could be, my car never runs hot, all temp gauges never hit close to half what they go to. However when I stop at stoplights and what not I notice that you can see heat waves from the motor. seems hotter than the gauges say.

but thought I'd rant, I quit when I couldn't help people rather than just push sale items...The plug could have melted from just being a cheap piece of crap, swap in a good set and see what happens. Heat waves from the engine are normal,
the hood vent is right over the exhaust/turbo remember Thread
