Sounds like a blown head gasket. My last car did the exact things you are reporting.

Just to follow up on this, here is what the problem was: You know the little ground piece that is just off the negative side of the battery? It came off the bolt on the AMS mini battery. It was making the car drive like ****! Re-grounded it and it all went away. =)

Nissan Sunny 2004 Heating Issues

I have the same problem, just recently the car temp peaks when I got the air conditioning on.
So I checked the coolant reserve and thats way above the max line, as in it has increased even though I did not add any water or coolant in there.
The fans have recently been changed.
There are no visible leaks anywhere, but im not sure about the head gasket , although the there isn't any particular or visible smoke, coming out the exhaust.
And I do have one busted engine mount which will be replaced soon, but I don't think that will solve the heating issue.
Could it be that the radiator has developed some major corrosion and isn't letting the coolant pass through?
The last thing I want is coolant leaking into the engine.
Need some urgent help.

I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be that the ground from the battery wire( it supposed to be bolted to the strut tower) was not making the proper contact.

FYI my issue turned out to be a bad secondary ground(the smaller line that grounds to the battery area). It was making the entire ride act funky. There was no cooling issue in my case. Read my above post.
