The weirdest build yet?

We were contacted late last fall by a Rally team looking to build an Open Light Class Rally car. For those of you not familiar with rally, its a naturally aspirated AWD class that basically only has 2 rules, adjust displacement legal to FIA rules and no forced induction.

Our tech Jake, has been the rally program testbed for the last year or so. We started with a high compression 2.4 with stock IX turbo in his VIII and made 476/495 at 27psi. On the restrictor we made 314/433 at 24.8psi that I will admit

The pictures to follow are shocking and not normal. Women, small children, those pregnant or wishing to become pregnant, or those generally intolerant should shy away.

The horror of the All Motor Evo-

We havent dyno'd this combo yet (we are going to) but basically this is just the testbed before we commit to a real engine program (HIGH compression, bigger cams, intake manifold, header). The motor hasnt changed too much since Jake's 10:1 2.4 other than we built a quicky header to make it work. It is still SD running on DSM 450cc injectors, 4 bar, and E85, S2s, etc.

Enjoy

Aaron

The final dream would be pretty intense for an all motor, just really have to see how this one does and then some math

This car is not destined to be an all motor car. Jake is going to put his Red back on and drive the car the way it was meant to be. Testing is about keeping the test as inexpensive as possible and maximise the results. So far it has recycled all existing parts that were already on the car or laying around the shop to get a feel for what it would do. Since it normally runs off a 4 bar, why spend a ton of time changing things right?

Wow lol.

What cams are you going to use? Custom grind, or maybe some N/A DSM's?

Custom grinds to match compression and header if it ends up working well enough that our customer maintains interest. This has GSC S2s in it still since thats what the car normally runs.

OMFG GAHHHH!!!!! I hate this rally class. Such epic cars, such abysmal power setups. I love it though, please share the results.

I don't think it will break 200 whp N/A. I'll be curious to see the results.
