Oil catch can??

How necessary is this mod? This is pretty cheap considering other mods, i'll eventually get it, unless there is any down side to it? Is there any?

Its not required, but you certainly don't want that crud getting into your turbo or intake so its a good preventative step, plus it looks good.

it is a pretty easy concept. If you dont have a catch can, oil will get blown out the breather in the valve cover, and recirculated into the intake. The oil will build up over time, and put sludge through your intercooler piping, and ultimatly the cold side of the turbo. Sludge on the turbo will create drag on the impeller since there is sludge on it. The turbo will then have to work harder, and over time will decrease the life of it. It is not something that is incredibly crucial, but if you like your car, and plan on keeping it for a while, it would be in your best interest to invest the initial $100 instead of replacing a costly unit.

I have a Cusco oil catch tank for sale in the private/for sale section of the forum (shameless plug) if you are interested.
