I honestly believe your mechanics are giving you a story. There is no way in the world it would be effecting the radiator at all. It just doesn't happen. The 02 housing is so far away from the radiator that it woud never happen. I guarantee you that the mechanics bent the fins when they put the donwpipe in there.

We have been building these downpipes for a lot years for the DSM. We have never had a problem with them at all. They are the most popular item for the DSM and they never use heat shields on them.

The flanges are absolutley flat before they are sent out. I personally did it myself so I know for a fact they were sanded down.

The gaskets fits perfect without any problems. Who installed the downpipe. Maybe I could give them a call to give them some advice on installing the 02 elim. It is a really simple procedure and there are nothing, but benefits from installing it over any other downpipe.

It did. Today we tested and the cutting of the 02 housing cut wasn't straight and that was why there was a gap and it was leaking... so eventually mechanics had nothing to do with that... it was all because of the product, the downpipe with 02 housing...

First, I paid for the first installation. Then a week later, I paid to remove the downpipe and now i can't put that one again because like I said because of the manufacturer error, there is gonna be a gap... i will have to pay for the 3rd!!!!! installation ... since it is gonna take 2-3 weeks to get fixed...... that is just unbelieveable.. i can't believe

Well sorry but they weren't flat at all. I checked them today at the shop with my own eyes.. I will be posting the pics tomorrow...

Unless you put a straight edge acroos the flange before the initial install, you'll never know if it was F-d up from the get go!

Besides, if a gap was spotted after the install, why didnt they sort it out then?

I took it to Japaneese Auto Clinic on Lee Hwy.

You don't neceserally have to see the gap... there was a gap but it was hard to see..
Eventually I didn't know until I see my radiator...

I never thought putting a straight flat edge on the 02 housing before I put it on since i got it from rnr racing and of course rnr racing should have done that not me..

I also took the pics but since the gap is hard to see, you can't see them in the pics...

There was something wrong with the product, I don't understand why everyone blames me?

Honestly no one is blaming you. We sand the flanges down flat before they are shipped.

There is a little trick to isntalling the downpipe. You need to put the rear bolts in first. This is probably where the problem came from.

There is no way radiator damge can come from a flange. I almost guarantee it was when the downpipe was installed. It is very very easy to bend over radiator fins while installing anything like this.

Sounds to me the radiator damage he is complaining about is exhaust blackness on the radiator. Did he mention bent fins? i didn't see it.

There is absolutley no risk of that at all whatsoever. If your fins are bent, someone hit them. Period. Other wise aluminum compressor housings, cylinder heads etc would be in grave danger.

Sorry about the double post, it would not let me delete them.

We took off everything before the installation including radiator, some part upper intcl piping etc. just to make it easier...

I honestly don't remember which bolts we put in first..

you are definately not the only one who is having these problems man. If you got one from the same lil batch as we got ours, then it was NOT installation error. we never even got ours on the car because the holes were so far off. we even set the flange against a wall and you could roll the flange around the wall, it was so far from being flat. I've been a big RNR fan for quite some time. I can't even recall how much money i and my friends have spent there on our dsms and my buddies evo, and as of lately, i have been HIGHLY unsatisfied with everything coming from there. I'm enclined to not shop there anymore at all. I hope everything works out for you tho man. But like i said, i doubt it was your installation. Like u said in the beginning, there was a problem from the get go when ur holes did not line up, u had to redrill the holes. that to me shows that it was bad from the beginning. But like i said, hopefully ryan has sorted this out and worked everything out with you.

Well everything was sorted out. We fix the problem so that we won't have any more problems with this issue again. The company that made the flanges for us wasn't building them correctly and that was the problem we found.

It has been resolved and we have since then installed a few of them without any problems at all. It has been taking us about 2 hours to install which isn't bad at all considering the performance increase you get with the 02 elim downpipe.

We are also now offering external dump downpipes which offer an even bigger increase in performance. We can do this now we are having a different company build the flanges for us.
