What are the next steps to obtain 450whp.
Hey!
Need everyones help
I am at a road block on how to get to my next goal.
Heres my current set up:
Location: Edmonton, Alberta Canada
2006 EVO 9 GSR, SSL Package
Elevation, 668 m (2192 ft)
Gas: Husky 94 Octane
Tuner: Tamer @ 4WS (Remote Tune)
Power: 386whp / 363wtq
Boost: 26psi
Mods:
- ETS LICP
- ETS UICP
- ETS 3.5" FMIC
- ETS INTAKE
- AMSOIL FILTER
- GRIMSPEED 3 PORT SOLENOID
- OMNI 4 BAR MAP SENSOR
- BBK FULL TURBO
- FIC 950CC INJECTORS
- PORTED EXHAUST MANIFOLD
- MAP O2 HOUSING
- CATLESS TBE
- WALBRO FUEL PUMP
- Synapse BOV (Going TODAY to pick it up from Fedex) - Not Installed Yet.
Please Note, I dont have access to E85. <-- Wish I did!
This summer, I am doing the following, Im driving to English Racing in Washington and getting my work done. Im going Cams, (probably GSC S1's), Head Studs, Timing Belt, Head Gasket
Here were some ideas:
- I was gonna do IM and TB but I dunno if thats gonna get me to my goal.
- Meth, buuut im worried about failure
- Upgrading to either FP Red, Black, BBK-B (If i did upgrade, i was thinking BBK-B) but I wanna see if i can succeed off of a BBK Full.
If i cannot succeed off of BBK Full, I will have no choice but to use another turbo.

Not sure how conservative your original tune is to get the 386whp but looks to me like even just the S2's won't get you to your goal unless you can up the boost quite a bit and tweak the timing at the same time. I'd guess you're gonna need a new turbo.

p.s. meth kits can be set up very safely, you already have a grimmspeed 3 port/omni map sensor, all you need is somebody to set you up with tephra map-switching as a failsafe. I have those same parts and have my meth kit set up so that I can turn it off completely and run pump gas or turn the kit on and flip the kill switch to run meth/methanol map on the fly.. works great and have failsafe in place to divert to the pump gas map if there is any issue with the meth kit...

You can follow my old 451whp pump gas BBK build. Especially if your running 94 octane, although that gas I was running was like ~E15-E20 94 octane. You'll need cams too, and a good tune. If your going to see ER you already have the tune covered.

You can follow my old 451whp pump gas BBK build. Especially if your running 94 octane, although that gas I was running was like ~E15-E20 94 octane. You'll need cams too, and a good tune. If your going to see ER you already have the tune covered.

So how similar are your mods to mine? Did u just add meth to get that HP increase? How fast does tephra switch maps though, b/c my theory is, im not sure if meth fails, can tephra switch maps fast enough for your **** to blow, ya know? I dunno, im still weary about meth.
You should see the vids on youtube i've seen! Daaaamn! Alot more noticable then S1's!!
Well I think Tamer tunes me to be safe rather then jack me up to get that HP #. That is what i want too. I dont want a crazy aggressive map just to get that #. I wanna be safe too. Im doing head studs so would like to increase my boost to 30psi.

Side question.... For you guys who have FP Black... i know you dont see boost until higher RPMs. When do you start to build boost? Also is FP Black twin scroll so when ur in 5th and step on it, will it hit or take a bit to go.
450whp on what dyno? cams and upgraded turbo(fp red/black) should get you a good bump on pump gas whether that is 450 depends on the dyno. what dyno did you make your current numbers on?

I always read stories of FP Red/Black failing...little hesitant im not gonna lie
