Buschur licp leaking at turbo?

Replaced my cylinder head and installed br deluxe intercooler with licp. The problem is that when I boost leak tested the system is pissed out the connection between licp and turbo inlet pipe. A socket does not fit on the nuts bc of the design. How did you tighten it evom?

you need to use an open end wrench or a crow's foot to tighten them bolts.

What do I need to remove to use a wrench? It's a tight space. I wanna hear how you guys managed. I will have to look into a crows foot.

I used an open end wrench. Are you referring to the J-pipe from the bottom of the turbo or are you referring to the LICP coupler ON the J-pipe? You can also look into a ratchet wrench.

Jpipe at bottom of turbo. It's buried in there and if a socket won't fit on it a ratchet wrench certainly won't. :-(

I have the buschur j-pipe so i didn't have that pain. I used allen wrenches. Crow's foot is your best bet. I said ratchet wrench because I was uncertain which part of the turbo / licp you were referencing.

I just did mine, you have to remove the starter and use a long extension. That is what I did and it worked find for me.

Could you even get the socket on the nut? The problem seems to be the nut is to close to the LICP and a socket, as thin as it is, is too thick to fit. I'm gonna try crows feet, I hope it works!

There needs to be a gasket between the turbo and LICP. Did you use/reuse it?

Also have you tried a swivel socket with/without an extension?

he told me he couldn't even get a socket on the nut which doesn't make since. After I took my starter off it took about 2 minutes to change.

if your trying to get to the j pipe couldnt you just remove the underbody panel and put your car on jackstands and get underneath it? I think its alot easier from underneath, just make sure the dp is cool.

I did reuse the gasket but it was in good condition. Does any one use Allan bolts or would they strip under that torque?

Why don't you just call and talk to David ??? Rather than getting NVA advice, you could talk to someone that has actually solved your problem 'a few' times and knows what he is talking about....

I'm using Allen head bolts. I actually thought they came with the BR J pipe, but I could be wrong.
