Trans Leak

what is that black cover on the bottom of trans? is it anything special? its leaking and i want to un bolt it tomorrow and put some rtv on it to keep it from leakig.

what seal is it? i can actually think of two black covers on the bottom of my tranny... maybe i'm special...

post a pic... it might be worse then a seal

There is no "gasket or seal" there. You simply use RTV. Make sure you clean both surfaces and they are dry prior to reinstalling. That black panel is to access reverse gear when tearing down the trans.
